Firefighters in the Highlands were last night battling a large fire in Caithness.
Firefighters were called out to Scrabster Seafoods, located at Scrabster Harbour, shortly after 5pm following reports of a blaze at the property.
Six fire appliances were conveyed to the scene, travelling from Thurso, Wick, John O’Groats and Helmsdale, around 5.11pm in an effort to contain the blaze.
It is understood nobody was injured as a result of the blaze.
A fire spokeswoman said: “Our crews remained on scene until 3.03am this morning.
“The fire has been extinguished.”
An extensive list of equipment was in use with three ground monitors, three hose reel jets, two hydrants and an ultra high-pressure lance deployed, alongside two firefighters draped in breathing apparatus.
At the height of the blaze, thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the roof as flames roared to the full height of the building.
