A cyclist has died following a road accident in the Highlands.
The incident happened on the A830 in Fort William shortly before 7.35pm yesterday.
It involved a 33-year-old male cyclist and an HGV, both of which were travelling eastbound towards the A82 in the Blar Mhor area.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The HGV driver was uninjured.
The road was closed until around 12.50pm to allow for an investigation to take place.
Road Policing Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “Our thoughts are with this man’s family and friends at this time.
“We are working to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would ask anyone with information or dashcam footage which has not yet been shared with police to come forward.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 3677 of August 6.
“I am also grateful to everyone affected by the road closure for their patience.”
