Coastguard teams were kept busy yesterday rescuing injured and stranded people in the Highlands – including walkers marooned by flash floods.
Shortly after 3.30pm, Coastguard teams responded to a call from a member of the public who was concerned that three men had been cut off by the tide at Tongue Causeway in Sutherland.
Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent from Melness and Kinlochbervie and the men were escorted back to safety.
Around the same time, a group of walkers sparked a rescue after being cut off by flash floods near the Corsuisk memorial hut at the head of Loch Scavaig on Skye. Mallaig Lifeboat rescued three people.
At 5.12pm a woman suffered a leg injury after falling at Kilchurn Castle at Dalmally, Oban Coastguard Rescue Team attended the scene.
Flash floods keep emergency services busy across the Highlands
