The fire service first received reports of the incident shortly after 8pm. A spokeswoman from the fire service said: “We are currently in attendance at a dwelling fire at Colonsay Terrace. “We have three pumps in attendance.” It is believed the fire started within a second floor flat. Update 9.50pm: Police have confirmed that residents have been evacuated, and that there have been no injuries. A spokesman said: “The fire has been extinguished and everyone is out the building safely. “Neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precaution and nine people require emergency accommodation tonight. “There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.” Firefighters remain on the scene, and can be seen clearing debris caused by the blaze. Update 11.45pm: Firefighters have now left the scene. A spokeswoman said: “One main jet and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire. “We left Colonsay Terrace at 11.30pm.”
