In a celebration of west coast distillers, Oban will host a whisky and gin show next month.

The second West Coast Whisky Feis will take place on Saturday, September 14 at The View, George Street, from 1-6pm.

The distillers will all gather in one place to celebrate the rich tradition surrounding the production of some of the highest quality spirits found worldwide.

Exhibitors range from the Kintyre peninsula all the way up the northern west coast including the likes of Springbank, Tobermory, Talisker and of course, Oban Distillery.

Gin distillers from Jura, Islay, Glasgow and elsewhere will be showcasing their goods alongside some of the region’s best food.

Co-organisers of the event, Euan Finlayson and James Galbraith are both involved in the local whisky and gin industry. They are dedicated to creating a memorable day where patrons are able to not only try the goods produced in the region, but also converse with the people directly involved in the creation of these products.

There will also be traditional music performed by some of the region’s most talented artists during and after the event.

Oban Distillery will co-host an “Old vs new Oban Whisky” tasting located in the distillery’s warehouse on the same day. This involves an in-depth tasting of Oban whisky, dating back to the 1960s up to current bottlings.

More information can be found at www.westcoastwhiskyfeis.co.uk or by calling into Oban Whisky and Fine Wines on Stafford Street, Oban.
