A primary school at Skellister in Shetland has been praised by inspectors.
Education Scotland visited Nesting Primary School and praised the effective leadership of new headteacher Sandra Petrie.
Inspectors said the children enjoy school, support one another well, are motivated to learn and are proud of their achievements.
The teamwork of staff and their willingness to improve the school was also described as a strength.
Councillor George Smith, chairman of Shetland Islands Council’s education and families committee, said: “The inspection report is a positive reflection on the changes taking place at Nesting Primary School and the progress made in the short time since the new head teacher has been in post.
“It is clear from the findings that the new head teacher knows the school well and that we can look forward to continued progress.”
