The Loch Ness Monster will once again be hitting the headlines as scientists today revealed what they believe could explain the mystery.
University of Otago geneticist, Professor Neil Gemmell, said a giant eel is the most plausible explanation for what people might have been seeing over the years.
Professor Gemmell announced the results of his investigations into the environmental DNA present in the British Isles’ largest and second deepest body of fresh water, Loch Ness at a press conference today.
