A new chief executive has been appointed by High Life Highland, the arm’s length leisure organisation of Highland Council.
Steve Walsh has been entrusted with leading the organisation to provide a diverse range of activities and events to meet the needs, and wants, of locals and visitors to the Highlands.
Mr Walsh, who this week entered his second week in the post, said: “I am really pleased to join High Life Highland, which has built strong foundations in its first eight years.
“I look forward to working with the team to lead and support its future growth and continued success in the provision of leisure, culture, and arts – particularly for those who most need support in order to maximise participation in our various activities and services.
“I am confident that High Life Highland will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Donald McLachlan, who chairs the High Life Highland board, welcomed Mr Walsh to his role, adding: “His knowledge and skills fit with the aims and objectives of the charity and will support the board and management in taking High Life Highland into its next phase of development”.
Mr McLachlan is also confident the appointment will enhance the relations of the organisation across the region.
