Revised plans to transform a run-down office block in Inverness into self-catering holiday apartments have been lodged to the Highland Council.
Glen Mhor Hotel were previously granted planning approval in June to convert 14A Church Street into 29 self-catering holiday lets.
The plans incorporated aspirations by the Highland developments to construct an additional floor on to the building to cater for eight apartments, – offering panoramic views of the city.
Following a two-month review, developers have now reapplied for planning approval after retracting plans to construct the additional floor space, reducing their capacity to just 21 holiday lets.
During the initial planning stage, Highland council officials said the conversion was an “appropriate” city centre land use”.
Meanwhile, consultee Historic Environment Scotland said there was little in the way of improvements to the front of the façade which remained a far from outstanding example of later 20th century architecture, sighting greater benefits for a “more creative” approach.
