Motorists heading north towards Inverness are being warned to expect delays after an overturned lorry closed the A9 in Perthshire.
Police and paramedics were called to the A9 Perth to Inverness trunk road near Bankfoot shortly after 9.30am this morning following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
One man has been transferred by paramedics to Ninewells Hospital for further treatment following the crash, however, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The busy trunk road was closed by police in both directions during rush hour this morning as emergency crews worked to make the area safe.
Traffic came to a standstill as emergency crews remained at the scene, following an oil spill following crash.
Both lanes remained closed for some time before officers reopened the southbound lane around 10.30am.
A police spokesman said: “We were called around 9.30 am to a two-vehicle collision on the A9 near Bankfoot. One was a lorry. Road was closed but re-opened at 10.30am. One man with injuries. Scottish Ambulance service in attendance.”
The A9 northbound still remains closed.
