A street in Golspie will be closed next week while Scottish Water carries out repairs.
Work is being done to the sewer in Fountain Road. To enable it to be completed safely by the contractor Kier, the street will be closed to traffic between its junction with the Main Street (A9) and the entrance to the Highland Council car park.
The closure is expected to be in place for one week, starting from Monday October 14.
A signposted diversion will be in place via Seaforth Road and the Back Road to maintain access to the car park, local businesses and Golspie Health Centre. Arrangements will also be in place to maintain safe pedestrian access throughout.
A Scottish Water spokesman said: “We would like to thank customers and road users for their understanding while we carry out this essential work to repair a section of sewer in the centre of Golspie.
“We appreciate this is an important location for the community and local businesses. Our investigations have identified that work is necessary to repair the pipe beneath the road and tackle a potential cause of unplanned disruption in the future.
“Local businesses and the health centre will be open as usual while work takes place. We would ask residents to allow some extra time and use the signposted diversion to access the car park.”
