A new resource to provide residents in Dingwall with careers advice has officially opened on the town’s High Street.
The Skills Development Scotland career centre is based at Dingwall Service Point and will offer expert career information, advice and guidance to local residents.
Gillian Unger, SDS team leader for Ross-shire, hailed the benefits of the new centre, which provides residents with a one-stop shop for support across a range of services.
She said: “Opening this careers centre in Dingwall is a fantastic opportunity for us to meet with and support even more people in the area.
“No matter your age or what stage you are at in your career, SDS’s professionally qualified careers advisers will be available to support you.
“Whether it’s working out what you want to do next, finding out about local jobs, education, apprenticeships or training or even brushing up on interview technique – our careers advisers are here to help.”
Local councillor Alister MacKinnon is delighted that, since opening earlier this year, the service has been “warmly received” and regarded as the “flagship” facility in the town.
He added: “We very much welcome this opportunity to share the space and resources with Skills Development Scotland and look forward to working together.
“This new partnership will create a genuine community hub, offering more services where everything people want can be found under one roof.”
