A loving home is being sought for a Jack Russell terrier.
The Scottish SPCA is caring for the dog named Poppy at Caithness and Sutherland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Dounreay, by Thurso.
Manager of the centre, Jimmy Gunn, said: “Poppy has been in our care for 280 days and has been continuously overlooked.
“She is 13 years old so she is looking for somewhere to live out her twilight years.
“Poppy is a very friendly girl and loves a fuss to be made of her.
“As she is getting on in age, she doesn’t require a great deal of exercise and enjoys short walks.
“She does have quite a high prey drive so will need to go to a home without smaller animals or cats.
“Poppy has lived in an outside kennel but also in a house. She will need further house training as she does have the odd accident.
“She just needs that special someone to come along and provide her perfect, loving retirement home.
“The SSPCA experts think rescue pets make great pets. They also believe everyone who gives a rescued animal a place in their home and heart is fantastic.”
