An author has embarked on writing the true crimes of Lochaber.
Following the success of his first book, author Mark Bridgeman is writing a sequel.
This time he intends to open up some of Lochaber’s dark and secret past with a selection of short stories from the area’s turbulent history – and he wants some help from the people of Fort William.
Mr Bridgeman’s first book The River Runs Red featured a series of crime stories from Perthshire’s past. It features stories of murder, mystery and crimes.
Mr Bridgeman said: “It was a natural fit for me, really. The River Runs Red has been an amazing success in Perthshire. We’ve virtually sold out within two weeks of publication, and the book has been so well received.
“Now I want to write a similar book about Lochaber. I’m looking to gather a series of really interesting local stories, based on crimes and mysterious occurrences in the area.
“Hopefully I can achieve an entertaining balance of stories that will make this book an enjoyable read for locals and visitors alike.
“I have a close relationship with the Highland Bookshop in Fort William and they have been so supportive.”
Anyone with a historical crime or mystery they’d like to see in this new book should share the story with Mark at mark.bridgeman@talk21.com or via The Highland Bookshop, Fort William.
