Seven good causes in east Caithness have shared £1,300 from the operators of a community wind farm benefit fund via a popular vote.
The awards followed a drop-in event in Thrumster village hall earlier this month staged by the local community council.
Groups were invited to showcase the project they wanted support for and residents were asked to vote for their favourite, with the winners getting the cash.
The funding came from the companies which operate the Watheger 1 and Watheger 2 turbines.
The top prize of £500 went to Caithness Community Connections which will be spent on Thrumster Youth Club.
A £300 award went to Thrumster Scottish Women’s Institute to help buy new craft materials.
Five £100 awards went to: Yarrows Heritage Trust; Stirkoke Rifle Club; Befriending Caithness; Home-Start Caithness; and Thrumster Game Fair.
