A tree surgeon was rescued after falling from a tree on the Ardnamurchan peninsula
Emergency services yesterday flocked to provide urgent medical care to a tree surgeon after the man fell from a tree near Achleek.
Medics gathered on the Ardnamurchan peninsula to remove the casualty from the remote location.
As a result, the man, who is in his 40s, was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The severity of the man’s injuries is unknown.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said yesterday that the alarm was raised shortly after 11.15am, with four coastguard rescue teams sent to provide assistance, alongside a road ambulance and an air ambulance.
The coastguard teams, who came from Salen, Mallaig, Fort William and Kilchoan, assisted at the scene by undertaking a rope rescue extraction down a 20-metre hill to the landing site to allow for uplift of the casualty by the helicopter.
A coastguard spokeswoman confirmed all crews had stood down by 5pm following the extraction of the casualty to the landing site.
