The new operator on the Caithness and Inverness scheduled bus route has revealed plans to put on an extra daily run.
Aaron’s Coaches started up in competition to the established Stagecoach Service seven weeks ago.
Company boss, Wick-based Aaron Wilson, said he is reacting to customer demand to start up a second daily return trip.
He said: “I’ve been delighted with how the service has been received so far. It’s been unbelievably busy with our buses running most days with between 30 and 40 passengers.
“We’ve had a lot of requests to run a service that leaves earlier in the morning and comes back earlier in the afternoon.
“People say they have hospital appointments in the morning and want to return home earlier.
“We’ve lodged all the paperwork and hopefully the second run will start before Christmas but definitely be running in January.”
Mr Wilson, 25, started up the firm two years ago and runs a fleet of 11 buses from a garage base in Thrumster.
