A soldier who fought over “ungentlemanly conduct” at a Christmas party was fined £630 today. Corporal Thomas Creighton from Fort George Barracks was one of 100 people at Inverness’s Mercure Hotel on December 19. Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday that he got angry when he heard another man boasting about sex. Defence solicitor advocate Mike Chapman said: “He confronted the man about what he regarded as being ungentlemanly conduct and got into a fight.” Creighton admitted conducting himself in a disorderly manner and engaging in a fight.
