A lane on a busy Highland road has reopened to motorists after a lorry veered off into a roadside ditch.
The HGV was travelling north on the A82 towards Inverness this morning when its trailer careered off the road at Dunain Park near Dochgarroch, closing the route in both directions.
The single vehicle accident caused lengthy delays for northbound and southbound motorists leading to a 26 mile diversion via the A833 and A862.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the incident.
Police were first alerted to the incident – located around five miles west of Inverness – at 11am this morning, with officers remaining stationed at the scene throughout the day.
Engineers from Bear Scotland were also on hand to assist teams at the scene.
The incident brought resurfacing works – being undertaken in the area – to a standstill.
One lane of the trunk road has now reopened under convoy system around, ahead of a separate road closure around 7pm this evening to allow a crane to safely recover the vehicle.
