A body has been recovered from the River Averon in Alness during searches for missing man Calum Mackenzie.
The 41-year-old was last seen around 1.45pm on November 7 in the Dalmore area of Alness, having visited Morrisons supermarket on Dalmore Road shortly before 1.30pm.
He bought food at the shop before leaving on foot.
A multi-agency search was launched, which also involved the police helicopter, and last week officers stopped drivers and speaking to people in the area he was last seen.
A police spokesman said: “Police in the Highlands can confirm that a body has been recovered from the River Averon in Alness during the search for missing man Calum Mackenzie, who was reported missing from Alness on Thursday, 7 November.
“A post-mortem examination is to take place and Calum’s family have been made aware of developments.
“The public are thanked for their assistance during the search.”
