A street in Oban town centre was cordoned off today after a 75-year-old woman was hit by a car.
Police vehicles were parked at either entrance to Stevenson Street, blocking off traffic, after the collision took place during morning rush hour outside Hannah’s Newsagents.
The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was taken by ambulance to Lorn and Islands Hospital in the town.
A police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at 8.50am in Stevenson Street, Oban.
“A 75-year-old woman was taken to Lorn and Islands Hospital with minor injuries, which were not life-threatening.”
Members of the public were allowed through the cordon to access the barber shop, newsagents and Rockfield Centre. The road re-opened shortly afterwards.
