The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued four alerts across Caithness, Sutherland, Easter Ross, Wester Ross, Skye and Lochaber. River levels are expected to rise in the region due to the rainfall from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. People are asked to be vigilant and warned about localised flooding affecting low-lying land, roads and isolated properties. Met Office A yellow weather warning has also been issued by the Met Office and will remain in place until 11.59pm tonight. A statement said: “Heavy rain may cause some transport disruption across western Scotland on Saturday afternoon and evening. “Bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer due to spray and flooding on roads.” Highland League Several of today’s Highland games have been postponed due to the weather.
