A teenage boy has died following a three-vehicle crash on the Black Isle, police have confirmed.
The accident happened at around 6.55pm yesterday on the A9 at the junction of the B9161 road to Munlochy.
It involved a white Nissan Juke, a red Vauxhall Corsa and a blue VW Polo.
The driver of the VW Polo and passenger of the Vauxhall Corsa were conveyed to Raigmore Hospital as a result of the crash.
The 16-year-old male passenger of the Vauxhall Corsa died as a result of his injuries.
Sergeant Angus Murray, of the Dingwall road policing unit, said: “We are supporting the young man’s family at this time and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
“I would encourage anyone who may have seen what happened to contact us.
“I would also ask if there are drivers with dash-cam footage which might help with our investigation to call us.
“Anyone with information should contact Road Policing in Dingwall on 101, quoting incident 3576 of 20 December, 2019.”
