Glencoe ski centre has re-opened today following the devastating fire at its base station.
The lower slopes are open to skiing, sledging and snowboarding, with wind preventing the Cliffy lift being opened.
Fire crews worked on the blaze, which took hold early on Christmas morning, for 11 hours using nearby rivers to douse the flames.
The restaurant base station, a steel-framed timber building, was gutted.
Some communications have been restored after cables were melted by the fire and the webcams are back up and running.
The snow sports community has inundated the resort with offers of help. Manager Andy Meldrum said the best way to respond to the crisis was to come out and use the slopes.
A message on Glencoe’s social media page says: “Please note we currently have no base station cafe and have a temporary ticket office. Please bring cash if you can as most of our card machines have melted.
“Our accommodation, showers and toilets now have power but please note if you are staying with us you will need to be more self sufficient than normal as no food available in the evening onsite.”
