Parts of the A9 were forced to shut following the incident that happened around 3.40pm. The woman was treated by ambulance crews. A spokesman said: “We received reports of a female pedestrian being hit by a car on the A9 around 3.40pm this afternoon. ?#A9 UPDATE ? ⌚️16:50⌚️ The #A9 is fully running in both directions following an earlier RTC at Alness, Traffic is now easing in the area. @NETrunkRoads — Traffic Scotland (@trafficscotland) December 27, 2019 “The woman sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.” The road has now reopened and traffic is beginning to ease.
