Bus driver Mohamed Chache had nine passengers onboard when he crashed into a bridge on the B9161 Inverness-Cromarty road, near Munlochy, in January. The Stagecoach vehicle overturned, and Mr Cache died at the scene. Three passengers were taken to Raigmore Hospital in a serious condition while the others suffered minor injuries. Another bus driver spotted the accident, and raced to help until emergency services arrived at the scene. A preliminary hearing will be held at Inverness Sheriff Court in February, with the full inquiry expected to get under way the following month. His widow described him as the “warmest, most loving man”.
