Police in Inverness have released a new CCTV image of a 72-year-old man who has been missing since before Christmas.
James Paton was last seen around 1.30pm on December 23 driving his Dacia Duster on the Fanellan Farm Road, near to Ruttle Woods on the south side of the River Beauly.
The newly-released CCTV image was taken at the filling station in his home village of Beauly a short time before his final sighting.
His vehicle was found near Upper Fanellan on December 23.
Searches remain ongoing in the area, with officers from Police Scotland’s Dive and Marine Unit carrying out searches on the River Beauly on Friday, 9 January.
Sergeant Brian Bisset, of Beauly police station, said: “Sadly, despite extensive searches we have not been able to locate Mr Paton.
“We are keeping his family fully informed as we continue our inquiries.
“I would continue to urge people to be aware and report anything which may be helpful to police as soon as they can.
“I would also ask local residents to check any sheds, outbuildings or areas where someone could of sought shelter.”
James is described as 5ft 8ins and of stocky build with grey hair and a beard. He wears glasses.
At the time he went missing, he was wearing black trousers, a purple jumper, green fleece jacket and brown rigger boots.
