Drivers have faced horrendous conditions across the north and north-east today as Storm Brendan battered the region.
Fallen trees are reportedly blocking roads across Aberdeenshire while the A866 road at the Braighe in the Western Isles was closed for several hours.

The footage shows huge waves crashing onto the road and cars, causing visibility problems for drivers.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning to coastal routes and communities which could be particularly badly affected by the impact of Storm Brendan as large waves batter seafronts.
