Two mountain rescue teams were scrambled to reports of an injured walker stranded in the south Highlands last night.
Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and their counterparts from Tayside were called out to an area between Ben Alder Lodge and Ben Alder Cottage at around 5.45pm yesterday.
The team tweeted that it could be a “long night” with no aircraft support available because of the difficult weather conditions.

The team sent an update five hours later saying they had still not found the injured walker and that conditions were proving challening.
The walker was located safe and well at the Ben Alder Cottage bothy at around 11.30pm, following more than six hours of searching from the rescue teams.
