Over a thousand huskies will compete this weekend at the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain’s Sled Dog Rally in Aviemore for the 37th year.
Every year since 1984, over 1,000 sled dogs and 250 mushers take part in the biggest dog sled rally in the UK.
This Saturday and Sunday, teams comprised of between two and eight huskies will pull their mushers at great speeds through four to seven miles of the forest trails around the picturesque Lock Morlich, which sits in the shadow of the Cairngorn mountains.
The Siberian Club of Great Britain have organised the annual event in conjunction with Forestry Commission Scotland and are hoping to once again attract crowds of over 3,000.
If there is no snow on the scenic Highland grounds, the race will still go ahead with the use of a three-wheeled rig.
