Organisers of the Hebridean Celtic Festival are hoping to bring the curtain down on their 25th year in style as they reveal the latest act to join this year’s line up.
American blues musician Seasick Steve will top the bill on the closing night of the four-day-event which will run from July 15-18 in Lewis and Harris.
Seasick Steve’s performance in Stornoway will form part of his upcoming UK and European Tour, with his drummer ‘Crazy Dan’ in tow.
Speaking ahead of the festival, he said: “We rock. That’s what we do. When I see a field full of people, they’re just with us and ready to get down in the mud (sometimes real mud). We love it, and we love them.”
HebCelt director Caroline Maclennan said she is “thrilled” to welcome Seasick Steve to the line-up.
She said: “This is another major coup for the festival. Seasick Steve is an internationally renowned musician with a huge following.
“We are thrilled he will be joining us in Stornoway to mark our 25th anniversary in style.”
Scot’s rock giants Texas will headline Friday night’s milestone festival alongside fellow acts Tide Lines, Julie Fowlis, Trail West and Dual.
Former 2018 headliners Skippinnish will also make their return to the HebCelt stage, following on from their spectacular 20th anniversary show in Inverness in front of 4,500 fans.
The band said: “We are absolutely delighted to be returning to HebCelt in July to join in this fantastic festival’s 25th anniversary celebrations. It is one of our very favourite festivals to be part of with the HebCelt team being so well run and welcoming and with audiences being so incredible.”
