Pupils at a Gaelic Medium primary school have made a short promotional film to attract a new head teacher.
Lochaber Primary School is situated three miles west of Fort William in the village of Caol and children from across the Lochaber area can attend.
The hope across the school community is that the parent council driven film will grab the attention of a suitable candidate for the vacant head teacher position.
“We Need a New Head Teacher,” or “Tha Feum Againn air Ceannard Ùr,” showcases the school setting, which nestles between Loch Eil, River Lochy and the Caledonian Canal, with the panoramic Nevis Range in the background.
The current school roll is 106, with 34 children enrolled in the Sgoil-àraich (nursery). Parent council chairwoman Aoibhinn Lawlor said: “We are looking for someone who will build on the successes of the school and has a shared interest in fostering the Gaelic language and culture, which is at the heart of the school’s ethos. If you move to Lochaber you will be rewarded with a lovely friendly school, the opportunity to be part of a wider community and a very good quality of life, in a truly spectacular part of the country. Come and visit us to see.”
