Night-time road closures will be imposed on the A82 Inverness to Glasgow road at Onich next week.
A £60,000 resurfacing project is being carried out on a 770ft stretch at Gollanfield.
The overnight work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday and will take up to two nights to complete. The project will take place between 8pm and 5am each night with surfacing expected to be finished by 5am Thursday.
A road closure will be in place. As there is no suitable diversion route available, vehicles will be held at the work site until they are able to be escorted safely through the roadworks during the set amnesty periods at 9pm, 10pm, 1midnight, 2am and 4am.
Motorists are encouraged to arrive prior to these times to ensure they are accommodated within the amnesty period.
The A82 will be open during the daytime, however a 30mph speed limit will be in place to ensure vehicles can safely pass over the temporary road surface.
Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s north west representative, said: “The £60,000 investment from Transport Scotland will allow our teams to carry out this essential resurfacing project at this section of the A82, greatly improving the condition and safety of the route in this area.”
He said they had avoided working at the weekend to avoid disruption.
