Firefighters called to house fire on Skye

Firefighters were called to attend a house fire on the Isle of Skye.

The fire broke out within a property in Ardvasar shortly after 7pm this evening.

Firefighters from Broadford, Kyle of Lochalsh and Portree were called to the scene after the alarm was raised at 7.14pm.

Upon arrival, crews established the incident was caused by a piece of plastic catching fire, causing smoke to build within the property.

Crews left the scene a short time later.
