Driver cut out of car on the A9 at Thurso

A woman has had to be cut out of her car following a two vehicle collision on the A9 at Thurso.

Firefighters had to cut her out of the wreckage of her upturned vehicle.

Emergency services arrived on the Highlands road at around 22.40 after one of the vehicles involved had been overturned in a nearby field.

It is understood the unnamed female is both conscious and breathing, but it is suspected she could have broken some bones.

It is unclear if she is being taken to hospital following the incident.

The collision between the car and lorry has currently left the A9 closed in both directions.
