Three-hundred-and-sixteen cars, vans and emergency service vehicles were given a thorough clean over the weekend by the Kessock lifeboat crew.
Through their efforts, they raised more than £2,400 to aid their lifesaving work on the Moray and Beauly Firths.
Sunshine shone on the crew members as a steady stream of traffic flocked to the lifeboat station, with this year’s tally exceeding that made previous year by more than £400.
The total, which weighed in at £2,480, was the reward for six hours of solid graft from the crew.
Trainee Helmsman Doug Munro said: “This event is really important in our fundraising calendar and donations are particularly critical for us right now as we prepare to train and equip new volunteer crew following recruitment campaign.
“It costs in excess of £1,000 for the personal protective equipment worn by each crew member, so the money donated by the public really does make a vital difference to us.”
Fellow emergency service personnel from the fire service and coastguard took their vehicles for a clean, with some keen RNLI supporters even travelling from Elgin for the day to support the event.
Vicky Mair, who made the journey from the Moray town, praised the high spirits of the crew, adding: “We all respect the 24/7 search and rescue service provided by the RNLI and although I hope we never need them, it’s reassuring to know they’re there and ready to respond if anyone was in trouble.”
