Fire crews attend kitchen fire in Stornoway home

A kitchen fire broke out last night in a semi-detached home in Stornoway.

Two crews from Stornoway attended Cearnan Hiort shortly before 7pm.

They used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

There were no casualties.

The fire was dampened and the building ventilated, with a thermal imaging camera used to check for any hot spots.

The crews left the scene some 40 minutes later at 7.41pm.
