A weekly virtual Covid ceilidh will be aired live by a north council to keep people entertained during the lockdown.
It is part of a programme of online events announced by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in collaboration with partner agencies.
They will also include yoga sessions, cookery programmes, a quiz and colouring-in activities for children.
The Covid-19 ceilidh sessions will begin around 9pm on Friday on the council’s Facebook page, with well-known musician Iain ‘Spanish’ Mackay performing a live set of songs.
Iain Mackay said: “I’m hoping to do a live stream on Friday on the Comhairle’s Facebook page in order to keep everyone’s spirits up with a wee laugh and with a few songs.”
The same Facebook page will host a live quiz each Thursday at 7.30pm, while the yoga classes will be available every week on Mondays at 9.30am and Wednesdays at 4.30pm.
Each Tuesday at 6pm, meanwhile, the council will share an episode of the popular Gaelic cookery programme Fuine.
All episodes, which are in Gaelic with English subtitles, can be found on the MG Alba website.
In addition, colouring-in designs for nursery-aged children will appear on the authority’s social media channels every Tuesday at 9.30am.
