Two tennis coaches from the Highlands have been named as finalists for a top award recognising decades spent spreading their love of the sport.
Jane Bradley, from Inverness Tennis and Squash Club, and Yvonne Birnie, of Rothiemurchus and Aviemore Tennis Club, have been selected as front-runners for the lifetime achievement gong at this year’s Tennis Scotland Awards.
The award focuses on role models who have made efforts to leave a legacy on the sport, and is one of the most prestigious to be handed out on the night.
Blane Dodds, Tennis Scotland chief executive, said: “The awards give us the chance to recognise the incredible achievements of individuals, clubs, teams, tournaments and programmes across the country.
“They are the driving force behind our sport and it’s important that we take the time to acknowledge their contributions to tennis in Scotland.
“All should be very proud of their achievement in being shortlisted for an award and we look forward to announcing the winners in the next few weeks.”
In total, 36 finalists have been announced across 13 different categories.
The winners will be announced today and an awards ceremony will be held at a later date.
