Stagecoach have announced further changes to their timetables to meet demands of frontline workers in the north.
As part of the temporary changes – coming into effect from Monday – the Highland operator has introduced a number of morning journeys to New Craigs Hospital as well as across the city.
NHS front line workers are also in line to benefit from the scheme, with free travel being offered from both Raigmore Hospital and New Craigs in the evenings between 7pm and 10pm.
David Beaton, managing director for Stagecoach Highland said the new schedule is being brought forward to help provide additional transport for key workers relying on services.
He said: “We continue to play a crucial role in ensuring that key workers, such as NHS staff and the people vital to the food supply chain, can get into work.
“The revisions we are making are as a direct result of listening to the feedback we have received on our temporary timetables.
“Our team across the Highlands is continuing to pull together to ensure that we can continue to deliver our services in these uncertain times. I would like to thank them for their continued support and resilience in making sure essential journeys can still be made across the Highlands by bus.”
Contactless payments are being encouraged wherever possible and social distancing guidelines are being displayed on buses.
