Firefighters have returned to base after successfully extinguishing two wildfires in the Highlands.
The alarm was raised around noon today following reports of a wildfire in the Achnasheen area.
Crews from Gairloch and and Aultbea were first to called to the blaze – spanning around 320 yards – before being joined by firefighters from Ullapool a short time later.
The water carrier from Inverness also made its way north to assist with water resources at the scene.
Firefighters used knapsack sprayers, beaters and one hose reel jet in their efforts to bring the blaze under control.
One crew remained stationed at the scene dampening down hot spots, before leaving around 4.30pm.
Meanwhile, on the north coast, firefighters successfully extinguished a wildfire in the Melvich area.
Two crews from Thurso were called to the fire at 1pm today alongside a specialist wildfire unit.
The fire was success extinguished within 90 minutes, with crews leaving the scene shortly after 2.30pm.
