Firefighters were tonight recalled to a fire on an area of grassland in Glenfeshie.
Six teams initially tackled the blaze which was said to cover an area of around 200 metres by 200 metres near a young tree plantation.
Two fire units from Grantown were joined by teams from Kingussie and Aviemore, along with community response units from Carrbridge and Newtonmore in fighting the outbreak.
The alarm was raised shortly before noon and after several hours the teams were stood down. However the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the teams from Aviemore and Kingussie and the two community response units returned to the site around 6pm after it re-ignited.
Wildfire warnings have been in place in parts of Scotland for some time due to drier weather.
