Advanced testing for Covid-19 is under way as efforts to contain the outbreak continue at the Home Farm Care Home in Portree.
On Wednesday a fifth resident at the home died from the virus. A total of 57 residents and staff have tested positive.
John Angus Gordon, 83, died on Tuesday, followed by fellow resident Ronald Colbourne Jackson, known as Ronnie, 84, on Wednesday.
Those staff in self-isolation will be tested before returning to work.
Tests have also been conducted on staff and residents another home in the town, Budhmor, and Broadford’s An Acarsaid care home, but all came negative.
All staff tested at An Acarsaid are still awaiting results.
Meanwhile, a mobile testing unit has been in operation in Broadford this week testing key workers to supplement the Covid Assessment Centre in the islands capital.
Skye councillor John Finlayson said the residents of Skye were deeply concerned by the situation unfolding on home soil.
He said: “The whole Skye community is still very concerned about the situation at Home Farm and the high number of residents and staff who have tested positive for Covid 19.
“Everyone is also thinking of the families of those who have lost loved ones and I personally would also like to send my condolences to the affected families.”
