A 61-year old man has been charged following a disturbance in Wick that left a 50-year-old man requiring hospital treatment.
Emergency services were called on Saturday evening to Barrogill Street after reports of the incident were received around 9.30pm.
A cordon was erected on the street outside a building which police officers stood guard over on Sunday.
Forensic officers wearing white suits have been seen entering the property as investigations are conducted.
Police remained tight-lipped over the details of the disturbance; however, they did say the 61-year-old man, who had earlier been arrested, had been charged.
A police spokesman said: “About 9.30pm on Saturday June 13 2020, emergency services were called to a property on Barrogill Street, Wick regarding a disturbance.
“A 50-year-old man was taken to Caithness General Hospital and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
“A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.”
The condition of the 50-year-old man is still not known.
