Mallaig lifeboat launched earlier this morning after a distress signal from a vessel on Loch Nevis implied there was a man overboard.
The crew at Mallaig were requested at 10.07am after vessels in the Sound of Sleat relayed back to the Coastguard Operations Centre in Stornoway that a distress alert had been broadcast.
The lifeboat made way to the vessels location, however, was stood down by 11am after it was established to be an accidental activation.
All members aboard the vessel were said to be safe and well.
The crew have since returned to base with the lifeboat ready for action again.
