Flags have been raised across the north in commemoration of Armed Forces Week.
Employees from Landmarc Support Services were joined by Armed Forces personnel and staff from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) at Cameron Barracks in Inverness earlier this week to witness the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag.
A ceremony was also held at Tain training camp to mark the annual milestone.
The official flag will fly at full-mast until Sunday as a special thank you to the full-time and reservist troops working across the nation and abroad.
Landmark – which manages the UK Defence Training Estate in partnership with the DIO – is currently supporting members of The 3rd Battalion of Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS), also known as The Black Watch, who remain stationed at Cameron Barracks.
The troops are currently assisting with the Covid-19 crisis through deployment to various testing centres cross the Highlands.
Brigadier Jonathan Bartholomew, DIO’s Head of the Overseas and Training Region, added: “We’ve all seen the contribution made by the Armed Forces to the Coronavirus response, in addition to their usual duties, so it’s particularly fitting to celebrate our service personnel this Armed Forces week.”
