A west coast amateur photographer has won a national photography competition for his image of a yellow siskin.
David Lawson from Argyll entered his picture in the Wild Bird Calandar competition, run by home and garden retailer Wilko.
He has been selected as one off 12 winners set to feature in Wilko’s official 2021 calendar.
He was also awarded a £100 wilko voucher.
Mr Lawson said: “I was delighted to discover that I had won the photography competition and that my photo would be used in the 2021 calendar.”
Daniel Bingham, Senior Pets Buyer at wilko said: “With the UK spending more time in their gardens throughout lockdown, we saw a big increase in the number of entries and quality of the photos of wild birds submitted to the competition this year.
“It was a tough decision as there could only ever be 12 winners, but we were extremely impressed by David’s photo.”
