Officers are “keeping an open mind” as they continue to investigate a string of care home break-ins across the country.
Police launched an appeal for information earlier this month following break-ins at three Inverness care facilities.
The thieves made off with a substantial amount of money totalling more than £700 following break-ins at Cameron House on Culduthel Road, Kinmylies Lodge and Highview House Care Home.
Police previously confirmed the thefts may have been linked to incidents which occurred in March at homes in Inverness, Daviot and Kingussie.
Police have now begun investigating a spate of break-ins at care homes across the central belt and west of Scotland.
Between Wednesday and Saturday last week, 10 incidents were reported at premises in Lanarkshire, Glasgow and West Lothian.
All of these offences are believed to have been carried out by the same group.
A police spokesman said there is no evidence to link these incidents with break-ins in the Highlands – however, officers are continuing to “keep an open mind.”
