An £85,000 overnight resurfacing project will start next week on a section of the A830 Fort William to Mallaig road.
The essential improvements being made at the Utha Bridge near Glenfinnan, start on Tuesday, July 14 and are expected to run for three nights, between 7pm and 7am.
Bear Scotland, which looks after the nation’s trunk routes, hopes to have the work completed by the morning of Friday, July 17.
“This essential surfacing project will create an improved road surface, greatly increasing the quality of the carriageway at this section of the A830,” said Bear’s Eddie Ross.
“The traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and road users, but we’ve taken steps to help minimise disruption for motorists by programming the improvements to take place overnight. ”
There will be a 30mph speed restriction during daytime as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.
A road closure is in place to ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as road users during working hours.
