Police in Tain are appealing for information after vandals caused £4,000 worth of damage to a school’s roof.
The incident happened sometime between June 15 and June 22, when the roof was deliberately damaged at the Tain Royal Academy, located on Scotsburn Road, which has resulted in significant further damage to the building.
It is estimated to have caused £4,000 in damage.
Sergeant Michael Gallie, of Alness Police Station, said: “It is disappointing to hear of this mindless act of vandalism that has caused considerable damage to the Tain Royal Academy.
“There is a minority in our community who feel this sort of behaviour is acceptable, but I want to be clear, that it is not.
“We are following all lines of inquiry to make sure that those responsible are found, I would urge anyone with information or who may have seen anything to come forward.”
